Book four of the series finds secret agent John Dee and his wife Jane in serious trouble. John has promised Queen Elizabeth I, cannons for the navy, and is paid a high price, he’s robbed, the money stolen and cannon taken, and his friend killed. Jane has been asked to attend to Mary Queen Of Scots, who is in prison, to try and stop a plot to have her killed for treason. An old enemy of John shows up, kidnaps his son, and soon he learns of a devious plot to kill Elizabeth and put Mary on the throne. Now John and Jane must do everything they can to save both women and find their son before it’s too late for everyone. This is another excellent book in the series. It starts off strong and keeps you reading along. The historical aspects of the story intrigue me, as I love these kinds of novels. Fans of the series will be happy with this one.
