The setting is a small Wisconsin town, and Lainey Davis has dreams of moving away someday, just not now. She barely makes enough money as a driver and sells things online. She can’t afford her health insurance or her migraine medicine. She also finds out she may be kicked out of the house she has lived in for 20 years, until she finds out about a legal loophole. Since she has lived there for those years, she owns the house. This does not sit well with Elliot Hodges, who has inherited all the land around the house, and some cabins. He has plans for the house, but cannot do anything without owning it. He tries to make a deal with Lainey, marry him, he can put her on his insurance, and then sell the house to him. They get married, live together while fixing up the house, and we know how these things go, they fall for each other, but is it just a temp thing or can it be forever? Author Ellie Palmer never disappoints, and this is another well-written, fun rom-com. You enjoy following these two characters and rooting for them to be together. A perfect summer beach read.
