The long-awaited sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish is finally here, and it’s a juicy, soapy, wonderful novel. Don’t worry if you didn’t read the first one (which came out in 2017), everything is explained. Jackson Parrish is in jail as the novel begins, for tax evasion, and is due to get out in another month. His current wife Amber finds jewels he’s hidden near their boat, sells them for 14 million dollars, puts the money in offshore accounts, and plans to leave him before he gets out and without their son, he gets out early and spoils her plan. His ex-wife Daphne is living in California, far away from him, but one of her daughters is insisting on seeing her dad, so they move back to Long Island for the summer. Daisy Ann Brisco’s rich father married Amber three years ago and was killed in a hunting accident and has vowed revenge against Amber since then. So Daisy Ann wants revenge against Amber, Jackson wants Daphne back, and puts a plan in motion to do that, and Daphne just wants her kids and to be away from Jackson. Many plots are hatched, and each of them backstabs the other, and we are left to see who will be standing tall. The writing team, known as Liv Constantine (a pair of sisters), always writes great books and this is another one to add to their impressive resume.
