Beatrice, nickname Beans, lost her mother at the age of 15, and developed an eating disorder that took a while to overcome, which still haunts her today. 26 years later. She’s a psychologist now, and gets an emergency request for a session from a new client. The woman tells her that her mother is still alive, they’re coming for her, and not to mention every seeing her. She soon learns the woman is part of a powerful drug company that the feds have been trying to take down for years. Beans is floored to think her mother could still be alive, and starts to follow all the clues she can come up with about her, and soon learns shocking things about her past, and it puts her life in danger, re-ignites her eating disorder, and could cost her the new family she has come to love. This is an intense, psychological thriller, that starts off fast, and never lets up. Fans of these kind of novels will enjoy this gem.
