Logan and Rosemary were best friends and like sisters, until a party one night changed everything. Now years later they’re both back in their hometown, and working at the High School together, but don’t talk to each other. Former gay English teacher Joe Delgado, who was a mentor to both women, is in a home, and now it’s terminal, and he has a last request of the two of them, take him on a cross-country trip from Washington to Maine, where he has a cottage and wants to die. Both women decide to put aside their hatred and take him on the trip, which soon turns into quite an adventure. Along the way they rediscover each other, possibly find love, reunite Joe with his true love, and learn what life is truly about. This is a feel-good novel, filled with laughs, and tears, and will tug at your heart. It’s the trip of a lifetime, and we as readers are lucky to be along. Warning, have tissues handy.
