Minari (Movie)

This insightful look at Korean immigrants making a home for themselves in Oklahoma is just the setting of this insightful picture. However, it’s the themes of faith and the fickle nature of the American dream that hit home most fervently. Steven Yuen (Glenn from The Walking Dead) gives an award worthy performance in a story that lets us peer into the culture of Korean Americans in a way that I’ve never seen before. It has been a long time coming, but cultural diversity is finally beginning to come alive in the movies. We should all count ourselves lucky for the breadth of storytelling it is unleashing. Open in limited release now and you can see it in theaters everywhere in February.
