Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (Film)
This was easily one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. I did not even know that this movie was on the horizon, but after I saw it I remembered just how good a satirist Sacha Baron Cohen really is. The way he manages to circumvent his celebrity status and the popularity of the previous movie would be amazing enough. However, it is how close to home everything hits that makes it sting so much. It’s also what makes the comedy ring so true. There are plenty of sight gags and shock laughs, but the really funny stuff happens when he reveals the issues with our country. And the scene with Rudy Giuliani is as damning as you have heard.
