If you’re a fan of Historical novels, it doesn’t get any better than this one. This is a powerful story of love and determination. The year is 1943 and in Auschwity Mala, known as prisoner number 19880, is a runner in charge of delivering SS orders in the camp, so in a sense she is safe in the camp. She secretly tries to help other prisoners when she can, with little scraps of food. Edward (known as Edek), is inmate number 531, has been here a while, and is determined to escaoe. When he and Mala meet, they form a bond and vow to escape together. They vowed to escape together or die together. This is her story, based on her real life story, and you get emotionally involved in following their story and it’s quite the story. Make sure to have some kleenex handy, you will need them.

You can pick up The Girl Who Escaped From Auschwitz, in stores on Tuesday, September 13th from Grand Central Publishing.
