Juliette Winters works for the Seattle-based publishing house, Simon Says, which has fallen on hard times. She has signed a deal with Warren Ellington, a big-name business man, to publish his explosive memoir. She hopes that will rescue the publishing company. They’re aboard a yacht to make the announcement, when he suddenly drops dead of an apparent heart attack, and the manuscript for the novel is stolen. Juliette believes he was murdered and decides to play amateur detective to prove it. She gets help from Doctor Charlie Hawkins, who is a heart specialist, is Australian and hot, and soon they’re falling for each other. They team up to investigate at Warren’s club, Pacific Pines, and soon another murder takes place, and Juliette may be the prime suspect, and finds her life in danger. This is the follow-up to She Doesn’t Have a Clue, for which we have a blurb about in this new book. It’s another fun, murder-mystery that hits all the right notes. The chemistry between Juliette and Charlie is off the charts. The first good new book of the year.
