Duffy Disterfano is a big fan of the Minneapolis Coyotes football team, and after an incident with the team mascot, she went viral and got a lot of hate for it. She’s invited onto the morning talk show to explain what happened, and is surprised when star player Connor Cunningham, who plays tight end, shows up as well. He had been asked by the team to help offset the bad publicity of their mascot. While on the show, the banter, and Connor is asked by the team to ask her out, which hopefully would create good publicity. They go out and have a good time, but are swamped by fans the whole night. Connor ended up liking her and asked her out again, which she turned down, but agreed to be friends with him. He ends up winning her and her family over, and they fall in love, until she learns that he asked her out at first for PR. He confesses he did, but it became so much more, and now he has to figure out how to win her back. This is another great rom-com from author Lynn Painter. Following along with Duffy and Connor is heartwarming and fun, and you root for the two to be together. A perfect beach read.
