Back in high school, Nami and Jae, were rivals, and disliked each other. Now Nami is turning 30, and Jae is back in her life. She’s part owner of a tech company that was successful before the pandemic, but is struggling now. Jae works for a company that does hostile takeovers, and are targeting Nami’s company. The old hatred soon flairs up between them, snarky texts back and forth, heated rivalry, including a tennis match, and eating hot ramen, all the time an attraction between the two grows, and they soon act on it, and fall for each other. Jae is keeping a secret from Nami, and when it comes out, it blows up their relationship, and now Jae has to figure out how to fix it. This is a really, excellent rom-com. The two characters are well-written and fun to follow along with. The text messages, and a side story about a kidnapped chair, are hilarious. Fans of this kind of novel have a winner in this one.
