Dirk Pitt, who heads NUMA, and his partner Al Giordino, are in London, searching for sunken ships and treasures, from boats sunk during WWII. They find one ship and two suitcases, one filled with uncut diamonds, not worth much today. When they get back to port, they’re robbed, and the diamonds taken. A man named Nassar is part of a group of terrorists who are trying to disrupt water plants around the world, and they swoop in and get contracts for big money to fix things. Pitt gets a lead on another ship that may contain millions of jewels, and the body of a former French famous leader. Meanwhile, Pitts twins, Dirk Jr. and Summer are on their own quest in Ireland, and soon run a foul of Nassar. The action picks up as everyone heads for the Caribbean in search of the jewels, as does Nassar, and there’s one final, climatic showdown. This is the 27th novel in the series, and the second with Dirk Cussler, and he does his father proud. With lots of action scenes, on and off the water, fans will be happy with this one.
