Book Review: ‘Sign Here: A Novel’ By Claudia Lux

A fun, humorous debut novel by author Claudia Lux, looks at working and living in Hell, in a fun way. Peyote Trip lives in and works in Hell, literally hell, down below, on the fifth floor, where your pens won’t work and the only alcohol is Jagermeister. He needs to get more souls to sign up for hell and if he can get one more member of the Harrison family to sign up, he will get a big bonus (wiping of his bad memories) and get his boss off his back. They can tell the wishes and prayers of humans and then they make their wish come true, as long as they sign a contract, which no one ever reads (with all those fine points). Along with his new co-worker Calamity, he sets a plan in motion. We follow it and get flashbacks of the Harrison family and their secrets. A good plot is the highlight of this novel and if Claudia keeps writing novels like this, she will be someone to watch in the future.

You can pick up Sign Here in stores on Tuesday, October 25th from Berkley.
