It’s a return to Timber Creek, and for Mattie Walker, it’s another day on the job as a cop, along with her K-9, Robo. She’s still worried about her stepdaughter after the events of the last book. She is sent on a welfare check and discovers a dead woman and her little girl, who is 2, all alone. At first is is assumed to be a drug overdose, but it might be something more. Also on this day, she has three drug busts, and the dead body of her lead suspect in the death of the woman is found dead. It is soon figured out that there is a drug smuggling and himan tracking ring operating, and it leads to a showdown between the police and the suspects. This is the 11th book in the series, and it’s another good one. The characters, the story, and Robo the dog highlight the story. Long-ime fans will enjoy this one.
