Moss & Freud will debut on Digital and Video on Demand on May 12, 2026. The film is based on the true story of supermodel Kate Moss’s unique friendship with artist Lucian Freud, which develops as Moss agrees to sit for a portrait by Freud, entering a demanding artistic process that challenges her sense of self and discipline.

Moss & Freud stars Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), Derek Jacobi (Gladiator, Gosford Park), Will Tudor (Game of Thrones, Humans), Jasmine Blackborow (The Gentlemen, Marie Antoinette) and Tim Downie (Outlander, Good Omens). The film is written and directed by James Lucas, best known for his Academy Award winning Best Live Action Short Film The Phone Call.

The official synopsis is as follows: At the height of her modeling career, Kate Moss agrees to sit for Lucian Freud, expecting a brief collaboration. Instead, she becomes part of a prolonged, exacting series of sessions that reveal vulnerability, discipline, and the psychological weight of being observed within a private studio space.
