Kurt Argento is an ex-cop in Detroit, who helped save the daughter of the Governor Of Michigan during a prison break. He’s still grieving the loss of his wife, and is house-sitting for his friend, along with his trusty dog, Hudson, in a small Arizona town, where he does small handyman jobs. Then Kristin Reed and her young son approach him about helping to find her missing husband, who went to Fenton, Arizona, about forty minutes away from where he is. When he goes there to meet her, she has vanished, and he notices that things in this small town are off. The police department is made up of special forces men, a mysterious man with gray hair, who is living in a mansion on the hill, with an armed gate, and armed guards. He soon learns that asking too many questions, and sticking his nose in where it doesn’t belong is not a good thing here. Then they kill his dog, and leave him in the desert to die, only he doesn’t and they’ll live to regret this. This is the second book in the series (I didn’t read the first one) and this is one awesome book. Kurt Argento is right up there with characters like Jason Bourne, The Gray Man, James Reece and Scot Harvath. The action is fast and furious and you will not want to put this one down. This book is as good as anything Jack Carr, Mark Greaney and Brad Thor has written. I can’t wait for more years of these novels.
