Review: ‘The Flash: The Complete Fourth Season’

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

Season four took a whole new look since Barry has been gone now for six months. The rest of the gang is trying to hold things together with the city but its been tough. Cisco comes up with away to bring Barry back from the speed force and everyone is happy to see him. By bringing him back it has created other metas from a bus load of people that they’re not aware of. Barry also gets a new suit this season.

The big bad this season is DeVoe, who lives on a different plain, which means finding him harder. He is also tracking down the other metas from the bus and taking their powers and bodies (as he can only live in a new body for so long). At one point Barry is convicted of murdering DeVoe and thrown in jail. He’s able to beat the charge thanks to his new meta friend Ralph (who is great comic relief and was also on the bus).

As the season winds down it’s a showdown to try and save the remaining metas that DeVoe hasn’t gotten and trying to stop him once and for all. Everything they think will work doesn’t and DeVoe is ready to release his ultimate plan the Enlightenment protocol.

There of course were side stories involving the other characters and on a plus note Iris and Barry finally got married and Joe found out he was going to be a dad. Another satisfying season with Team Flash and the crew with a great villain for them to fight.

You can pick up The Flash: The Complete Fourth Season in stores on Blu-ray and DVD August 28.
