We have mentioned the top five Star Wars movies to watch on May 4th. These are ranked according to fan’s favorites. Credited for meaningful storylines, significant characters, and pivoting galactic events.
Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope can never do you wrong. The movie brought life to the whole franchise. At the time of the release, nobody knew it would be this big of a hit.
Part of the original trilogy The New Hope features all the important Star Wars events and has played the galaxy timeline events smoothly. Unlike the movies that will follow A New Hope. This movie sets the base for the peace and disruption that will follow the Galaxy.
Watching this movie will leave a significant impact. Luke Skywalker’s character and his connection to the farm are depicted in a relatable way. Characters like Obi-Wan, Princess Leia, and Han Solo engaging with advanced gadgets of the time including R2-D2 were awe-inspiring.
Although changes have been made to the movie. It remains a cinematic masterpiece. For numerous fans, the vintage versions are jaw-dropping to this Star Wars day.
Hence why the original lightsabers are also the most sought after gadgets on May the 4th Sale!
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
You cannot argue that The Empire Strikes Back is not in the top three of the list, for all Star Wars movie fanatics. It is the sequel to A New Hope and introduces the dark side with a unique narrative.
The production of the movie has been sacred to Dark Force fans since its release in 1980. From the cool poster to the earth-shattering end, the movie was unexpected and pivoting. It has artistic value and the story buildup is impressive.
Darth Vader is relentless in his pursuit of Luke Skywalker. Leaving not a body unharmed that dares come between them. This dark picture is the beginning of the ruthless Empire rule that will follow the later galactic years.
The seeds of deceit and betrayal have been planted. Leia and Han Solo are on the run. Yoda is keeping Luke anchored on the light side. The movie is a constant battle to be watched on May 4th!
Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith
Episode III Revenge of the Sith has sparked a hot debate among the big screen enthusiasts. The prequel series has been criticized for bad CGI, low production quality, and entire dialogue scenes that make no sense.
Revenge of the Sith is the saving grace for the prequel trilogy. The ranking of this episode is particularly high because of its darker theme than The Empire Strikes Back. The movie is as treacherous as a Star Wars production can get.
Additionally, the interaction between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker may be limited to one planet. Yet the rippling phenomenon has effects on the political regime of the whole galaxy. The scale impact is bigger like the rise of Order 66. Secondly, it has good action sequences and the best duels of all trilogies.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Rogue One is a hidden and underrated gem that is hands down the best Star Wars movie. This movie is best seen after A New Hope and shows the motivation behind the Rebels against the Death Star. George Lucas’s production style combined with the actors’ brilliant performance delivered the used-city theme they were aiming for.
The galaxy’s picture of limited resources and scarce tools is well shown. Furthermore, the aesthetics of the film, cinematography, and introduction of the U Wing tugged the heartstrings of science fiction lovers.
The best part is the contrast between Darth Vader’s inhumane nature and the humility of the force and nonforce characters. The sacrifice for maintaining the peace and the actions on Scarif are the bold and realistic awakenings!
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
ROTJ is another movie from the original trilogy that scored all five stars. After Rogue One, Return of the Jedi is the second-best action-packed movie. At the time of the release, it was a Star Wars fan’s favorite because of the opening Jabba scene. The whole movie is packed with lasers, speeder bikes, and Ewoks wilderness.
The energetic and undefeatable nature of the Ewoks surprised many fans. Despite the expectation that the Death Star would crush the Ewoks. They surpassed the doom, and their victory ensnared fans in a vice. Palatine’s overconfidence and demise is an extra treat for the light side force lovers.
However, viewers have expressed disappointment with the boring ending at the Jabba palace. Also, the character development, actors interaction, and galactic warfare are not the biggest strengths of this trilogy.
Conclusion
There is a high chance you want to challenge our rating. Although it is likely that a movie you do not like is subjectively somebody’s favorite. Especially movies like Rogue One and Andor that get the biggest burn of the debate.
For the original Skywalker saga even fans are confused whether to praise the prequels and sequels. Or were they a total failure with one or two great scenes?
This argument cannot extend to the early releases. The 1970s to 1980s premier of the brilliant space opera was groundbreaking. Star Wars originals have received praise for their meaningful movie production.
It was and still is an exceptional storyline that continues to flourish and expand with the passing of another May 4th.
