It is that time again! Many of your favorite artists, comic guests, voice actors, authors, and celebrities are going to be gathering in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and a few other locations around New York including the Hammerstein Ballroom and Madison Square Garden this weekend October 3-6, 2019. You won’t want to miss this grand event where you will get the chance to hear insider stories, learn about upcoming projects, buy incredible art, and find those rare comics you’ve always wanted. You can also see creative cosplay, meet your favorite artists, take a picture with your favorite celebrity plus so much more at this year’s New York Comic Con (NYCC) presented by ReedPOP.
The star-studded guest lists this year will include Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd and Benedict Wong from the MCU, as well as classic Power Rangers Amy Jo Johnson, Austin St. John and Johnny Yong Bosch. If reality TV is more your thing, you can meet Adam Savage from MythBusters and the entire cast of truTV’s Impractical Jokers. If you want to learn more about film making on all scales, you can attend a panels by directors like Doug Limon, Adam Dubin and, Alex Garland.
If you prefer comics over movies and television, don’t worry, some of the great creative forces of the comic world will be in attendance. You’ll be able to meet some of the talents behind Marvel’s most groundbreaking series like Afua Richardson and Irene Strychalski. Saga’s Brian K. Vaughn will be in attendance all four days, as will legends like Chris Claremont and Todd MacFarlane. You will have to have a badge or badges that allow you to attend multiple days if you want to meet the likes of Frank Miller and Jim Lee.
Maybe anime is your thing, in which case you are in luck because you can attend Anime Fest 2019. Anime Fest is NYCC’s celebration of your love for all things anime. The event is located just a block away from the Javits Center and will be the NYCC home for exclusive and intimate anime panels and signings, interactive and immersive experiences, and after-hours parties. The panels and signings with talent will be separately ticketed to guarantee you the opportunity to meet your favorite anime personalities. The list of Anime Fest 2019 events can be seen here.
Don’t worry anime fans your NYCC badge will get you a ton of anime specific events on its own. Like a My Hero Academia panel presented by FUNimation and a signing by five members of the RWBY cast. Plus, there will be a ton of activities Booth# 756 which is home to Crunchyroll. The anime streaming company will offer a unique Boruto: Naruto Next Generations photo opp where you can show off your ninja skills. You can also celebrate the 20th anniversary of One Piece with a photo opp or by playing a demo of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 before its release in 2020. There will also be daily giveaways including buttons, coins, and drawstring bags. Senku hair from Dr. STONE and Boruto hair headbands will also be given out, so make sure you head to their booth early every day.
A must visit booth for Sci-fi fans will be CP101 the home of Amazon Prime Video’s The Expanse Experience. Fans will join the Rocinante crew as they make their descent onto New Terra. Amazon Prime Video invites all attendees to experience The Expanse like never before by offering a chance to explore the interior of the Roci, complete with in-show props and set pieces: from the kitchen’s broken coffee machine to an actual crew seat from the flight deck.
Guests will star in their own recreations of Season 4 artwork, as they boldly take their first steps on Ilus. No matter where their allegiances lie, this will be a great way for Amazon to welcome fans to the new home of The Expanse.
There will be events on Saturday, October 5th, one for fun and another for a good cause. From 1-7 pm you can over to Crossings Art Gallery for the Johnnie Walker A Song of Ice and A Song of Fire Tasting Experience. Two bold new blended whiskeys to represent both sides of HBO’s epic series Game of Thrones. After a libation or three, you can head back to Javits for the Ninth Annual NYCC Charity Art Auction to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. From 6:30-9:30 pm fans will be able to bid on art from any of over 150 creators who have donated to the event; this is your chance to have fun, get art and save lives.
The show floor will close at 7 pm on Thursday-Saturday and 5 pm on Sunday. That doesn’t mean the show is over though. Artist Alley will stay open till pm most days, panels go to 10 pm, and after-parties could go all night. Complete show hours are listed below. You can beat some of the rush buy visiting will call starting on Tuesday, October 1st to pick up your badges. If you don’t have a badge yet, you are in luck. There are still a few Thursday only badges available and this year you can purchase sold out badges through Lyte Exchange, the official secondary market for ReedPOP.
