Review by David Ferguson

Greetings again from the darkness. On the surface, this 8 minute short film plays like a pretty simple twisted comedy. A recently laid-off, nervous and desperate family man meets a cocky and somewhat sleazy recruiter for a job interview. It’s good for a few laughs, and plays a bit like a prank.

However, since the filmmaking team of director Stefan Fairlamb and writer Ashley Tabatabai also collaborated on the excellent short film FALSIFIED (2017), we know there’s another level at work here. Mr. Tabatabai plays Joseph Green, and nails the character described as an “opportunistic entrepreneur”, though textbook d-bag may be more accurate. Scott Michael Wagstaff plays Bobby, the earnest interviewee, who might best be described here as a sociological lab rat.

Going through some rough times financially, Bobby is especially susceptible to those with less than honorable intentions. As it unfolds, this clearly becomes a story of today’s Social Media world meeting the traditional culture of job security. Have we become so desperate for acceptance that we will act against our core beliefs if asked? This little film shows us how it can happen.
