A young girl named Anna (Bel Powley) grew up locked in her room and the only person she knew was her father (Brad Dourif). When her father tries to end his life, Anna goes to stay with Sheriff Ellen Cooper (Liv Tyler) until her DNA test results come in. While there, Anna slowly finds out that everything her father told her is a lie. She believed she was locked in her room to keep ‘wildings’ out, but she was actually locked in because she is a wilding. While experiencing a little bit of life as a teenager with Ellen’s brother Ray (Colin Kelly-Sordelet), Anna is also going through a change as a wilding. With the help of the wolf man (James Le Gros) and Ray, Anna must escape before her “father” and other hunters try to kill the last wilding.
For a movie not being released in theaters, it’s a decent movie. It’s not scary, but it does have a little bit of suspense. It’s kind of like a coming of age story for a creature mixed with a survival film. It has a decent storyline and it doesn’t drag. It’s not going to make you think differently about horror films, but it’s nice to see.
