Lucille Ball may be considered the Queen of Comedy but right behind could very well be Carol Burnett. Her long running The Carol Burnett show ran on CBS for 11 years and raised the bar for Comedy. Starring Carol, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Wagoner and featuring the outstanding wardrobe of Bob Mackie. The show won 25 Emmy awards and had great classic characters like Mama, Eunice and Mrs. Wiggins. Also classic spoofs of people like Gloria Swanson (I loved these skits with Harvey as Max), a Gone With The Wind spoof that is classic even today, a soap spoof As The Stomach Turns and so much more. I could remember watching the show every Saturday nights for the last four years of its run (it ran on different nights during its run). I loved when Carol would open the show with questions that were unrehearsed I just read and almost every week someone wanted the ‘Tarzan Yell’ from her. And then ending the show with her classic ear tug and her classic show.

The show every week had one, maybe two guest stars like Cher, Dick Van Dyke, Steve and Eddie, Lucille Ball, Phyllis Diller and anyone that was anyone. The highlights every week were seeing who would break during a sketch. It was usually always Harvey Korman. Now you can relive all this with an awesome new DVD Box set that comes out on Tuesday, August 6th from Time Life. The set is awesome! It contains:

* 21 discs with every classic skit
* Exclusive interviews with the cast
* A cast reunion
* New featurettes
* The final episode

It’s hard to believe it has been 50 years. The still seems as fresh today as it was back then. Actually it was more ground-breaking for its time. You can now relive it all again like I will be doing with this awesome set. There may never be another Carol Burnett in our life time!

The set is in stores on Tuesday, August 6th. You can click on the pic below to order one for yourself. You Won’t Be Disappointed!
