Shameless season nine was as good as any other season. Strong writing and incredible acting made the season a must watch and brought big changes to the Gallagher family. Lets dive in with some of the highlights.

Fiona lost everything and became a drunk. The family for the most part turned their back on her and she was actually hanging with Frank and sleeping on the streets. By the end of the season she went to AA and got clean and actually got some of her money back from an earlier investment. She ended up leaving town when Emmy Rossum decided to leave the show. Just an incredible performance from Emmy this season (like every season).

The rest of the family found Frank (William H. Macy) with scheme after scheme. He got his girlfriend pregnant with six babies and then she left him to go back to her ex. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) found out he is going to be a dad. Ian ended up in jail and re-united with Mickey (and Ian was written out when Cameron Monaghan left the show). Deb (Emma Kenney) became the head of the family. She stepped up and took over the house and made sure bills were payed and the family was together. V (Shanola Hampton) and Kevin (Steve Howey) argued about having another kid and he had a vasectomy. He also had to dress as Jesus and carry a cross in a funny episode. Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) was having issues with his girlfriend and tried to get into West Point.

And these are just the bullet points. So much craziness happened. And the show was renewed for a tenth season. There will be changes in case. Emmy Rossum is gone, Cameron Monaghan is back and so is Noel Fischer as Mickey. It will be interesting to see how things will play out without Emmy. One thing is for sure. The show is still as good as ever.

Relive the ninth season on Tuesday, April 23rd when it is released from Warner Home Video.
