Review by Monique Thompson
TIME is a documentary film following Sibil Fox Richardson on her journey of fighting for the release of her husband from prison. Robert is serving a 60-year prison sentence for armed bank robbery where they both were active participants. Sibil was released after serving only 3 ½ years for her role in the robbery. Since her release, Sibil, a mother of 6, has become an entrepreneur, abolitionist, and author.
Through camcorder recordings, Sibil documents her journey and story as she fights for justice for Robert. Prior to their arrest, the couple owned a hip-hop clothing store, a dream they always had, however, things were not as easy as they would have hoped. A foolish decision of robbing a bank and getting away with nothing changed their lives forever.
Throughout the documentary, you see Sibil’s relentless journey of attempts to get Robert’s sentence reduced. She also chronicles footage of her running her successful car dealership and home videos of herself and their son’s. One thing is or sure, Sibil loves her some Robert and stays loyal through it all.
TIME is a very solid documentary and certainly worth the watch.
