A plane, with three hundred people onboard, on the way from Minneapolis to Seattle, suddenly nose dives when the pilot suffers a deadly heart attack, the co-pilot is knocked out in the bathroom, and crashes and breaks up in the tiny town of Waketa, Minnesota. It breaks up into many pieces over the town, but the worst damage is to the nuclear power plant, which could breach, and send out dangerous fumes to the local residents and far beyond. On top of that, there’s many car crashes, and people killed, injured and a daring rescue attempt of a 5-year-old little boy. We follow the various plots as they play out, counting down from 16 hours to now, trying to stop gap the nuclear plant, and saving the child. They’re dramatic, emotional moments between loved ones, a daring rescue and the loss of life, to protect the greater good. All I can say about this book is WOW…author T.J. Newman has done it again. This is her third book and it is fantastic, like her first two were. She has become one of my favorite writers in such a short time. This is one you will not want to put down, and I highly recommend picking up her first two novels, Falling and Drowning, and make sure to have some tissues handy, you will need them.
