A solid first novel in her new Lew Ferris novel, is highlighted by a great character, in a small-town in Wisconsin. And Lew has a lot on her hands. Her passion is fly-fishing and she teaches it on her own time, when she’s now being County Sheriff. And first off is dealing with a sexual predator. And the suspect is the son of a rich, powerful woman in town. Then Lew’s brother is found dead and then two more deaths take place. They’re all connected and have to do with a land deal to sell to a mining company. The pieces finally come together and Lew is in a race to arrest the murderer and get the truth out. She’s also running an election for Sheriff and has that on her plate as well. If you like small-town, quirky characters with a solid mystery, this book is for you.

You can pick up Wolf Hollow in stores Tuesday, January 11th from Crooked Lane.
