Eleanor Thompson works for a music label and is in Las Vegas to hopefully sign the band Dempsey. She needs a win badly as her job is on the line. Adam Shaw is in Vegas for the same thing, sign the band to the label he works for. They know each other and used to work together, but don’t like each other. Not wanting to let Adam out of her sight, she goes out partying with him and the band. The next morning, she wakes up really hungover, with Adam in her bed, and each wearing wedding rings. Neither can believe it and spends the day trying to fix the mess they got into the night before. It leads to a series of wild adventures, meeting a lawyer at a strip club, Adam getting punched at a casino, and appearing on a game show at one of the casinos. Through it all they end up falling for each other and still have to get the band to sign for one of them. This is one of the best rom-coms of the year. Yes, it reads a lot like the Hangover movie, but the chemistry between the two is off the charts. Author Martin makes good use of the Vegas setting, and the book has lots of LOL moments. A perfect summer beach read.
