Book Review: ‘Window On The Bay’ Is The Next Great Debbie Macomber Novel

I just love Debbie Macomber novels. They’re always so great. Her newest one Window On The Bay does not disappoint. It has great characters, a great plot and is very relate-able to everyone. You find yourself rooting for each of the characters as the story goes on. Just a great summer novel.

The story is set in Seattle and Jenna Boltz has an empty house now. Her daughter just left for college. Her son has been gone. She has no husband as that went bad many years ago and she has not re-married. She hasn’t been able to find any good guys over the years. She has dedicated herself to her kids, her parents and her job.

Her best friend Maureen has had an empty house for a while now. Like Jenna she is single and hasn’t found the right man either in all these years. They have each other, their families and their jobs. And their trip to Paris that they were suppose to take years ago. Now they can finally plan it.

But things now have changed. Jenna’s mother breaks her hip and is rushed to the hospital. She meets Dr. Rowan Lancaster who is her mother’s doctor. And there is a spark between the two of them. At the same time Maureen has become infatuated with Logan. Now after all these years the two women thing they might have found a good guy but each are afraid for different reasons to get too involved. But they each take a change and slowly open up to a possibility. But their kids soon have news of their own and misunderstandings and bad communication may derail what could end up as something special for both of them. Will they be able to move forward or lost what could be the best thing to happen to them in years?

You can find out for yourself when Window On The Bay releases on Tuesday, July 16 from Ballantine.
