Book Review: ‘Where We End & Begin: A Novel’ By Jane Igharo

12 years ago in Nigeria Dunni is the daughter of rich parents and has had it all. Obinna was poor and got a scholarship for his final year of school, thanks to Dunni’s father. The two met at school and fell in love. Dunni left for America to go to school and was going to try and bring Obinna there with her. But he ghosted her and broke her heart. Now she has returned to Nigeria, an engaged woma, for her best friends wedding, for only four days and hopes she won’t run into Obinna. But they run into each other and old feelings emerge and Obinna explains what he was feeling back then. He’s a successful land developer now and wants her back. We learn about their past via flashbacks and now the question is can they put the hurt and the past behind them and can Dunni forget her live in America and her boyfriend Christopher, who she doesn’t really love and be with Obinna. You root for these two to be together but it’s not easy. A well-written story and strong characters make this a reall good book.
