In college Javi and Mari became best friends. They agreed to be each other’s wingmen and make sure each was dating people worth dating. There was even a time when they almost got together. Now years later Mari works for her father as an entertainment lawyer and Javi is writing a musical. On this night he’s excited to tell her about his play and his feelings for Mari (who also has feelings for him), when she blindsides him with the news that she’s engaged. Now Javi has six weeks to somehow stop this wedding and maybe even admit his true feelings to her. This is a great summer beach read. With quite a few lol moments, you get invested in Javi trying to do the right thing, at least in his mind. You root for him the whole way through.
