The second book in the series centers on Eva’s best friend and her boyfriend, Aston’s sister, Maddy Beaumont. She is about to be married, and at the last minute runs away, and heads to Europe, she has a trust fund to rely on. She’s afraid to come home and see the fallout from what she did. Months later, she is back in town and dealing with the fallout. She is helping out at Eva’s bake show, where her hunky brother, Elliot, who is a Michelin chef, has come back to help Eva out. He dumped his girlfriend before leaving Paris to return, and is looking forward to getting back to his chef roots. The two hit it off, kind of at first, then an attraction develops. She gets him to fake date her at a wedding where her ex will be. That leads to hot sex and a friends with benefits deal, and we know how that usually turns out. They fall in love, but misunderstandings and not being totally honest break them up, until Elliot can stay away from her. This is a delightful, fun rom-com, with two people you root for to be together. The hot sex and the chemistry between them are off the charts. A good beginning of fall book to read.
