Book Review: ‘What The Hex: A Novel’ By Jessica Clare

Penny Roundtree wants to be a familiar to a witch in the worst way. She belongs to the Society of Familiars, and she’s out of luck as no one is hiring at the moment. Then there’s warlock Willem Sauer, who is not allowed to do magic anymore, and he hires Penny off the books, and it could be trouble for both of them. So they start pretending they’re dating to cover up the fact they’re together a lot. They fight like cats and dogs, but also grow closer, and then they kiss. But danger lurks around them, and they need to work together to stop it, and in the process may just fall in love. A great follow up to Go Hex Yourself, featuring two fun characters you have fun following, and even a squirrel adds some laughs.
