Amy Wheeler works for a private security firm, and is currently off the coast of South Carolina, guarding a bestselling author, Rosie D’Antonio, who has a threat on her life from a Russian. When the cook at the secluded house tries to kill Amy, Rosie saves her, and they go on the run. It seems a mysterious man, who launders money around the world, wants her dead and her boss of the company. Amy calls her father-in-law, Steve Wheeler, who is a PI, and asks him for help. Together, the three of them start flying around the world to where previous people associated with Amy’s company were killed, and Amy is being set up, with various hitmen after her. They must track down the mysterious man before he ends up killing them all. This is a fun start to a new series from author Osman, who did The Thursday Murder Club books, and this is along the same lines as that series. A fun cast of quirky characters, an interesting story to follow along with, and quite a bit of humor. Fans of that series will enjoy this one.
