The We Solve Murders detective agency, with Steve, his daughter-in-law, Amy, and bestselling author Rosie, who funds the business, has finally got a client. Vern Blackwood has lost one of his bodyguards, who was shot to death, contacts Rosie, and soon the trio is off to Italy to talk with him. It turns out he has a business where he sells illegal vitamins. The killer left a note with a warning from Jacob Erikson, a former rival of Verns, and he wants to know if Jacob wrote the note. Their investigation leads them to Barcelona, Stockholm, Palm Springs, and back to London, where Vern is hiding out. Along the way, they meet Vern’s ex-wife, another business associate of Verns’, who is killed, and soon Vern is killed at Rosie’s castle, and it leads to a showdown with the man they think is Jacob, but leads to an even more shocking reveal. This is the second novel in this series, and it’s really good. The main characters and the supporting characters are well-written, and the banter between them is off the hook, with lots of lol moments. Author Richard Osman has outdone himself with this sequel.
