Book number two of the Black Star Renegades is a thrill ride of a story. If you’re into Science Fiction then this is the series for you. Nerdist calls the books ‘the next big thing.’ And I agree as I couldn’t put the book down. I didn’t read the first book and it’s not necessary as there’s enough backstory given so you know what is going on in this one.
The empire of Praxis is still up to no good. They’re still trying to take over the universe and it’s up to the Black Star Renegades to stop them. In the previous book they dealt them a crushing defeat even though they lost people close to them. They did a powerful weapon the Rokura. Cade Sura has it but he was never meant to possess it. And Ga Halle wants it as she feels she is the chosen one to have it. And she’s evil and in her hands all would be lost. Cade is trying to learn how to use and control it. He also wants revenge on the man who killed his parents.
Kira Sen is on her own mission. He evil father always seems to be one step ahead of her and she wants nothing better than to see him dead. He also has her mother imprisoned and she sets a plan in motion to rescue her. Like all plans they don’t got according to how they should.
While Kira is on her mission and Cade is on his all hell breaks lose. They must each face their demons and the mighty Praxis army and who lives and dies will come down to an incredible battle, where there will be casualties.
The story is all action with great characters and a story that has unlimited potential. It does in a small way remind you of Star Wars but that’s not a bad thing at all. I for you look forward to many more stories with these characters and to see where author Michael Moreci goes with it.
You can pick up the book in stores on Tuesday, April 9th from St. Martin’s Press and the first book Black Star Renegades you can get right now.
