Lila Kennedy had it all, a loving husband, Dan, two daughters, a mother and stepfather, Bill, who treated her like his own daughter and a best-selling book. Then her husband left her for a younger woman, her mother died, her house is falling apart and she needs to write her next book right away and her long-lost father, Gene a Hollywood actor, has shown up. Lila needs to restart her life and it’s not easy. Gene moves in and spares with Bill, her ex has announced he’s going to be a new father and she needs to work on her new book, after getting a great financial offer. Lila dips back into the dating scene with mixed results, with the hot single dad from school and the gardener working on her house. There’s lots of drama, putting the past behind her and becoming the strong woman she knows she can be. No one writes these character-driven novels like author Moyes. This is another great novel to add to her previous great novels. Jojo never disappoints.
