It’s a two-fold story with FBI agents Sherlock and Savich returning for the new novel Vortex. It was seven years ago when Mia’s friend Serena went missing and is presumed dead. Today Mia is a reporter for The Guardian in New York and is send some pictures from that party that Serena disappeared at. There are two men in a background picture with her and Mia is now trying to track them down. It leads her to a potenital shocking discovery of someone running for office and who has a powerful family. She tracks down new leads and gets what she thinks is the truth and now needs solid evidence. But someone doesn’t like her snooping and her life is in danger and that’s where Agent Sherlock comes in. For CIA agent Olivia Hildebrandt her life is in danger after an operation in Iran doesn’t go right. Someone thinks she knows something and want her for the information, which involves a flashdrive. FBI agent Savich is on the case and butting heads with the CIA. There’s a mole that is feeding information to the bad guys and Olivia finds her life in danger more than once. Both Mia and Olivia will stop at nothing to get the truth out, even if it costs them their lives.
Another solid FBI story with the always loveable characters of Sherlock and Savich and these novels never disappoint the reader. There’s a reason this series has gone 25 novels…because they’re always good!
