Vanishing Falls is a small remote town in Tasmanian with an unique group of residents. Jack Lily is a rich, married man with Celia his wife and four daughters, who lives in a mansion called Calendar House. The house has four floors and 52 rooms and when he comes home Celia is missing. He searches the whole house and nothing.
Flashback a few days and we meet the residents of Vanishing Falls. Joelle Smitherton has witnessed something with Jack and his friend Cliff that she wishes she hadn’t. She had an accident as a child that left her rather simple-minded. She’s married with twins. She also knows a lot about what’s going on in town and keeps most of it to herself. And she knows Jack is keeping a lot of secrets.
When the police have no luck finding Celia, Joelle goes on the case. Just what does she see and what long held secrets will be revealed.
This is a really fun story with well-written characters, especially Joelle and a fun setting sets the scene in this end of summer read.
You can pick up Vanishing Falls in stores on Tuesday, August 4th from William Morrow.
