Key McCay, 25, lost her father and is now making a trip to Scotland to spread his ashes, as per his final wish, and to try and find the monster he claimed saved his life. It means meeting the family she has never met, her grandmother and grandfather. She is ready to release the ashes, when Lachlan Greer, pulls her back from the spot she is on, fearing she will fall. They don’t get off to a good start meeting each other. Turns out he’s living on the farm that her grandparents live on, he has a secret, his family was cursed centuries ago by her family, and he has the curse now, as did his pa. She soon learns most of the secret (there’s a part he doesn’t tell her), and they fall for each other and have hot sex (some steamy scenes). They decide to work together to try and find a cure for the curse and he hopes she will forgive him when she learns the rest of the secret. This is a really fun, unique rom-com, with the magical elements, the curse and the setting of Scotland. It works perfectly together and enhances the story from the typical romantic comedy novel we always get. Author Lana Ferguson is fast becoming one of my favorite writers on this genre.
