Elly Parker lives in New York City and is an influencer with a large following. She’s married to James and is always filming things, especially acts of kindness. At their apartment, she is filming when she hears a noise and finds her husband and best friend in bed, all while filming live. Days later, she helps a man on crutches, Logan, with his backpack, which breaks, and she goes to his apartment with him, where he tries to kill her. She barely escapes, ends up in the hospital, and is arrested days later, when the bodies of James and her best friend are found in the apartment. She calls Eddie Flynn to defend her. Eddie is also dealing with an issue with his daughter and ex-wife, when Arthur Cross is trying to get revenge on her new husband, Kevin, who took away a big inheritance from him, and they are soon arrested for the murder of Arthur Cross. It’s all tied together with one man, and we follow both cases, going on at the same time. This is another incredible novel from author Cavanagh, who contiunes to top himself with each new Eddie Flynn legal thriller. The supporting characters add so much to these novels, and each chapter is told by a different character. Old fans and new fans will love this one.
