Hazel and Kagan, brother and sister, have blown threw their inheritances and are always hitting their mother up for more money, and she refuses to help them anymore. She’s been re-married to Perry for a couple of years now and out of nowhere she’s dead, having fallen from a fall, and the two learn they were cut out of the will. They believe he killed her, but have no proof. Then he vanishes with everything their mother owned. They’re able to track down his daughter, Ava, who agrees to help them find him and get back the money they think they’re owed. She knows how he runs his cons, she used to help him. It leads to a fun, twisty showdown, where you don’t know who you really can trust. This is a good novel to start the year off with, one you will not want to put down.
