Vandy is back in Queenstown and working as a private eye. She’s divorced, and is still grieving the loss of her 19-year-old daughter. She lives her life the way she wants, and likes to have no strings sex hookups. Her father, a former top cop in town, is in a home, having memory issues. She gets hired by Leo Hannah, of the powerful Hannah family, and whose aunt has been mayor in town for many years. He at first says his wife Ivy is being stalked, and then admits he thinks she’s having an affair. So Vandy follows her for a week and finds nothing. On her way to give him a report, she arrives at his house, his wife, and a strange man dead. Vandy is then hired by Ivy’s father to prove she was murdered and that Leo did it. As she investigates, there are forces that want her to stop, threaten her, and kidnap her father. When she finally puts everything together, shocking reveals surface, and she needs to find her father before it’s too late. This is the first book in this new series, featuring a strong, fun lead female character, a good mystery, and the start to what will be hopefully years of adventure with this character.
