A retelling of The Wizard Of Oz, set in modern times and centering around Toto, who can talk, and the story is set around him. The story follows along mostly from the original story, they arrive in Oz, Glenda shows up and gives her the shoes and they make their way to Oz and meet the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion along the way. Everyone in Oz can hear Toto talk, except for Dorothy, and he decides he needs to become a bad boy dog. Toto who thinks this place will be better than going back to Kansas soon figures out things are not as good as they seem. With tweaks to the story, it soon becomes apparent that this is not the beloved movie story we knew, but a somewhat darker place and it could be up to Toto to get them home safe. This is a fun, new take on the story, and centering it around Toto is great. Readers are in for a treat with this one.
