A U.S. Air Force plan crahes in Turkey, with a high level Cabinet member aboard, killing everyone on the plane, and an immediate investigation takes place. A team is sent right away, and sabotage is determined to be the reason. Also noted is that one person was missing from the plane. A man named Klaus, who was defecting to the United States, didn’t make the trip and was spotted in Tangiers, and the new Campus team, Task Force 99 led by John Clarke, is sent to rescue the asset. Soon, Jack Ryan and his staff learn of a dangerous Russian plot to blow up the Suez Canal, which would help jumpstart the failing Russian economy. It’s a race against time for U.S. fighters to take down a drone squadron bent on unleashing a deadly chemical. The book features Katie Ryan and Kyle Ryan, the daughter and son of Jack Ryan. They play pivotal roles in the novel, which is all action. The weapons, the technical talk, and the story are all top-notch. Author Ward Larsen has done a great job writing this novel.
