Phoebe Hunt is a documentary filmmaker and her next project is the story of Tempus Tours, a company that has invented time travel, owned by Inigo Frank. People can pay a lot of money for a short trip back in time, limited to as far back as 1941. They are closely watched and have to be careful not to do anything that can change time. On her first day, a group is coming back from 1941, and one of them, Sasha, is missing, and one is injured. Phoebe knows who Sasha is she grew up with her as family, and they share a tragic past. Sasha has stayed behind with a devious plan to change her future, and it also changes the lives of others around her including Phoebe’s boyfriend, who has no memory of her. In a desperate plan, Phoebe goes back in time as well to try to change something, and it could also alter the future when she gets back. Fans of time-travel thrillers will enjoy this one. It’s well-written, with twists and turns, and a compelling story that will keep you reading a long. A perfect late-summer novel.
