Paris Peralta arrives home early from her trip to Vancouver to find her rich celebrity husband dead in the bathtup. She wants to make sure he’s not dead, hits her head and wakes up to the police telling her to put down the murder weapon. She is holding a razor in her hand. She knows she didn’t do it but is still charged with murder. The last thing she needs is this publicity and her picture plastered all over the news. It’s just a matter of time before someone that she doesn’t want to see her picture and open up her very secret past, one she tried hard to escape. But people have seen her picture and now her past is coming back to haunt her and she needs to keep it quiet during this murder investigation or it could blow her defense out of the water. We learn via flashbacks about her sordid past and why she wants to keep it hidden. But secrets and the past have a way to never stay hidden and Paris will do what she needs to do to keep it that way while trying to prove her innocence. A solid thriller, with twists and turns to keep the reader engaged as we learn about Paris and her life. Not her best book but a solid summer read.

You can pick up Things We Do In The Dark in stores on Tuesday, July 19th from Minotaur Books.
