New York police detective Declan Shaw is standing on a subway platform thinking of ending his life. He gets an emergency call from his partner, Detective Cordova, a murder has taken place in one of the finest apartments in the city, and he has been requested by the wife of the victim. When he arrives he finds Denise Morrow, a best-selling author, on the floor, covered in blood, holding a gun, next to her dead husband. After investigating Shaw and Cordova come to the conclusion it had to be Denies. She’s arrested and put in jail. When new evidence is uncovered, it proves she couldn’t have done it or could she>? Another mysterious death of a young woman, not far from where the Morrows live, adds more questions than answers to both cases. From this point on the twists and turns come fast and furious and nothing is as it seems in this incredible novel. Authors Patterson and Barker have outdone themselves. Your jaw will drop at the shocking twist ending on the last page. This is one of the best books of the year.
