Hawthorne Lane is north of Manhattan in a ritzy area where Libby and Bill, Audrey and Seth, Georgina and Colin and now Mark and Hannah live. On the surface, it seems like a quiet neighborhood, but behind the scenes it’s anything but. On Halloween night it’s the annual fall festival, but this year a body is found in the woods and someone has been murdered. We go back three months and follow along with these people as the days lead up to Halloween night. We also see police interviews with people that were there that night throughout the novel. We don’t learn who dies until close to the end. Along the way shocking secrets are revealed, someone is having an affair, someone’s husband has left, one resident has a shocking secret past and one is being abused and one person is being set up for murder. This is a fun, twisty, soapy novel that starts off strong and never lets up. The twists and turns you don’t see coming. This is one you will want to keep reading.
