Book number three in the Natalie Lockhart series is a thrilling, emotional ride, that has Natalie on the verge of making life-altering decisions and sets up at least one more if not many future novels in the series. Natalie is living with the ultra-rich Hunter and she’s thinking of quitting her job as a detective with the Burning Lake Police department. After solving two high profile cases she’s drained. And there’s also the situation with Luke, her best friend and the feelings they both have for each other. She’s even written her resignation letter. Then a local Wiccan witch Veronica Manes is brutally murdered, everything changes. She throws herself into this case and has put quitting on the back-burner for now. A number of people are suspected and Natalie and the police are hard at work investigating. And then Luke goes and confesses his love for Natalie and she can’t handle it right now. Natalie soon learns shocking secrets and before the novel is over a few people will end up dead. And then an ending that will set up the next book takes place, leaving Natalie even more emotionally confused.
