Four families who live in an upscale neighborhood will have their lives forever changed. Whitney is a mother to 10-year-old Xavier and twins, He has been causing issues lately, and in a party not too long ago she lost it with him, and everyone heard. Now months later she finds him outside on the patio, having fallen from his bedroom, three stories up, and everyone wonders what really happened. He’s rushed to the hospital in grave condition. We also follow three other women, Rebecca, Blair and Mara, in the neighborhood via alternating chapters from each person’s point of view. Each has some secret they’re keeping, and over the span of the book we learn them all, secret affairs, broken marriages, and heartbreaking losses. If you’re a fan of well-written female characters, soapy twists and shocking secrets, this is the book to read this summer.
